The footage appears to show a boy picking up a stone or pebble and throwing it hard at the white pony only a few metres away behind a fence. The poor animal, called Robin, can be seen jumping in pain at the alleged unprovoked attack at Bourton Vale Equestrian Centre in Gloucestershire.
The incident was recoded by an apparent friend of the attacker and put on Facebook. It soon resulted in the video spreading across multiple platforms and people have reacted with anger and horror at the clip.
One person on Facebook said: “What the hell! I’m actually in shock that someone would do this!
“What a disgusting vile excuse of a human being!”
Another said: “Shameful, disgraceful behaviour. I would be horrified if I was his parent.”
