Johnson’s civil service cuts will leave Whitehall ‘unable to handle Brexit’
Unions have warned that plans to cut the civil service by 20 per cent will make coping with Brexit impossible.
Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is a British politician and writer serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since July 2019. He was Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs 2016-2018 and Mayor of London 2008-2016. Johnson has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015 and was previously MP for Henley from 2001 to 2008. He has been described as adhering to the ideology of one-nation and national conservatism.

New polling suggests the Tories could lose the Wakefield by-election by up to 20 points.
His intervention came on a day where Mr Johnson was booed by some in the crowd as he arrived at St Paul’s Cathedral.
The PM was also heckled and booed more as he left the service, with one person saying “f*** off Boris”.

"I never thought I'd ever have anything in common with Carrie Johnson. She can't bear to look at him either," wrote one person.
Crowds could be heard booing and whistling as the Prime Minister walked up the steps to St Paul's Cathedral.
